8 Plot Threads To Continue In Captain Marvel 2

Despite the star power of Brie Larson, Jude Law, Annette Benning and arguably Samuel L. Jackson’s best MCU performance, the star of the movie was undoubtedly Goose the cat. Or rather, Goose the Flerken. Ably played by cats Reggie, Archie, Gonzo and Rizzo, Goose stole pretty much every scene he was in.

It wasn’t just his cuteness or Fury’s wonderfully out of character snuggles with him; the fact he’s an alien is actually a potentially game changing development. Seeing as he hacks it up in the post credit scene, swallowing the Tesseract is not as big a deal as it seems, as it means the movie ends with it in Fury’s possession.

However, up until now Thor was assumed to be the first alien visitor to Earth. Obviously this movie has Danvers (technically not an alien, in fairness), the Skrulls and the Kree all predating the God of Thunder, but with limited witnesses, it’s an incident that can be swept under the rug.

Unlike all of those examples, we don’t know how Goose got to Earth, or why. In the comics they have dimensional travel, but it’s unknown if their on screen versions do. Is Goose a key building block of Phase 4?
