8 Reasons Why Frozen Is The Best Disney Film In A Generation

2. Wonderful Animation

Disney Animation Studios have finally managed to get to grips with reproducing the techniques as seen in the films released during the early 1990's €“ back when computer animation was first being introduced in Disney films and was interjected amongst more traditional drawing techniques. Of course these days pretty much everything is animated by computers, but Frozen manages to retain a hand-drawn finish. The style of animation generally is similar to that seen in Tangled €“ indeed the design for Kristoff is similar to an early design for Flynn Rider. But the part which is taken one step further in Frozen is that the ice effects are obviously computer-generated €“ you just need to look at the sequence in Let It Go where Elsa builds her ice castle, especially the beautiful animation that goes into the creation of the floor with the snowflake design. It's just wonderful. These effects immediately connect the film with those early 1990's effects €“ after all, remember when in Beauty and the Beast that the camera suddenly panned around during the dancing scene or during The Lion King with the wildebeest stampede as they run down the gorge? This nod immediately sends the minds of the viewer back to those wonderful Disney films and connects Frozen with some real classics.

I'm a pop culture addict. Television, cinema, comics, games - you name it, and I've done it. Or at least read the plot synopsis on Wikipedia.
