8 Reasons Why DC Fanboys Are Jealous Of The MCU

4. Marvel Has The Talent On Its Side

Robert Downey Jr may have had a reputation as a Hollywood hell-raiser when he was cast as Tony Stark, but very few people didn't immediately know that he had the charisma and talent to pull it off. Since then Marvel has found the right mix of unknowns (Chris Hemsworth), veteran talent (Mark Ruffalo), reliable stars (Scarlett Johansson) and up and comers (Chris Pratt ) to make its movies a success. As if that wasn't enough they nabbed nerd-emporer Joss Whedon to write and direct two films, gave us the Russo brothers and now have Benedict Cumberbatch filming Doctor Strange. Things are much more low-key at DC. The man leading the DCU, Zack Snyder, may have a unique visual flair but his pedigree isn't strong. 300 was all show, Watchmen was divisive, Sucker Punch was ridiculed and Man Of Steel didn't inspire the sort of confidence that should have seen DC hand over the keys to the castle in such a hurry. What's worse is that the one big name DC managed to bag, Ben Affleck, has been so relentlessly criticised since signing on that it's amazing he's even bothering to try and make it work.
