8 Reasons Why DC Fanboys Are Jealous Of The MCU

3. Marvel Beat DC To The Punch

The fact is that whilst DC was working out what to do after Nolan, Marvel pushed ahead with a coherent plan to build a universe and it worked. Being a new studio, Marvel wasn't held back by previous attempts to put any of the characters onscreen like DC and Warner, so they quickly gathered a head of steam through decisive casting and inspired production team choices whilst DC faffed about redefining itself. Marvel was proactive from the off, forcing DC to simply be reactive, rush and make mistakes. Marvel got there first and so DC were always going to be on the back foot, always trying to play catch-up to try and match their competitor's success. After Marvel founded the MCU, DC was always going to look like it was imitating instead of innovating. It must be especially galling for the DC hardcore, coming off the high of Nolan's Batman films only to spend the next six years listening to people talking constantly about the Marvel, but there really is no point bitching about it.
