8 Reasons Why The A-Team Deserves A Sequel

1. The Budget Was Too High

8 Whoever gave The A-Team $110 million deserves to be slapped on the wrist- this is probably the main reason why the sequel will never get made. This is a risky property- it€™s not famous enough to be a sure-fire hit, and this was never going to make its money back in merchandise, so really challenge a talented director like Carnahan and give him a smaller budget of £65-70 million. There is a tremendous amount of CGI and overblown action sequences, which though I loved, I would have loved to have seen the Joe Carnahan of Narc combine a very obvious understanding of the film€™s tone with low-budget tendencies to give us some closer to the best action films like Die Hard or The Raid or Bullitt or The French Connection, but obviously not as cerebral or serious. If it had not been such an extravagant expense, chances are the numbers it made would be enough to just about warrant a sequel. And if they were given a lower budget for a sequel, we€™d arguably have to spend more time with the team and evelopign their characters, which can only be a good thing, making the action scenes more exciting because they are not as constant and in-your-face. Imagine a thrilling confrontation or a scene that splits your sides, and then get an action sequence with the impact of €˜Tank VS Plane€™, shot in IMAX! Not that would be a damn good action movie. As it stands, The A-Team is just a good film, admittedly one I completely adore, but it is not a great film- I€™ll be the first to admit that. So, thoughts?
