8 Reasons Why X-Men Origins: Wolverine Is Underrated

4. Danny Huston Was Great As Stryker

Although his performance was a little different to Brian Cox's performance of the same character later in his life in X2: X-Men United, Danny Huston still gave the character that smug sense of menace, manipulation and fanaticism he's known for. He also cuts an imposing military figure, necessary for conveying the magnitude of his threat levels. One need only look at the cold, calculating moment when he murders his superior, or is ruthlessly controlling Weapon XI via remote. The look of Huston's character also felt like perhaps one day he could lose a few inches and turn into Stryker, which is a plus in regards to X-Men Origins: Wolverine feeling like part of the canon. Not that any of that matters now, as with the arrival of Days of Future Past, Origins went straight out the window. Still, that's probably okay, considering it spares us from the logic of a bullet that deletes memories.
