8 Ridiculous Castings For Upcoming Movies That Prove Hollywood Has Gone Insane
5. Miles Teller - Reed Richards - Fantastic Four
Another downright bizarre casting decision for Fantastic Four falls with the decision to cast 27-year-old Miles Teller (who still plays 17-year-olds in movies, by the way) as Reed Richards, a character renowned for being... well, not 27-years-old and having silver streaks in his hair. Okay, so going by the fact that both Bell and Teller have been cast in this flick obviously signals a brand new direction for the Fantastic Four, but Miles Teller - good actor as he is - doesn't seem to fit the bill as Reed Richards at all. He has almost nothing in common with the basic character. So whereas we can get behind Kate Mara and Michael B. Jordan as brother and sister duo Susan Storm and Johnny Storm (he's going to be her adopted brother, apparently), Teller seems just as out of place in this line-up as Bell does. If you've seen Teller in anything, you'll know that he plays sort of cool, sort of goofy-ish characters for the most part, which doesn't really explain how he ended up as the coldest member of the team. Wouldn't he have actually been better suited as a sort of rebranding of Johnny Storm? So we get the new direction: we don't really get this.
