8 Ridiculous Castings For Upcoming Movies That Prove Hollywood Has Gone Insane
2. Jesse Eisenberg - Lex Luthor - Batman Vs. Superman
Why do we feel as those we're going to end up eating our words with this one? Still, whether you think casting Jesse Eisenberg as Superman's arch-nemesis Lex Luthor is the worst thing to happen since 9/11, or you've successfully managed to convince yourself that he's a good choice for a "21st century take on the character," you have to admit that this is downright insane casting. It's ballsy, it's weird and it's definitely confusing, but it's still plainly insane: Eisenberg was probably the last person on everyone's list of actors they might have considered to play Luthor. Regardless of your stance on this casting decision, then, there's good chance that this will still probably be a lot more interesting than everybody's other favourite access denied choice, Bryan Cranston, who might've been efficient as a villain, but a little too familiar in the role. Eisenberg's Luthor is sure to be more Mark Zuckerberg than usual DC bad guy, which sort of makes sense given it's 2014... doesn't it? Also: it's insane. So Eisenberg will join Henry Cavill's Clark Kent and Ben Affleck's Bruce Wayne, of course. Ben Affleck? Okay, we might as well talk about it, then...
