8 Ridiculously Awesome Movie Crossovers (That Could Actually Happen)
3. The Planet Of The Apes And Predator
OK, this makes Aliens Vs. Avatar look sensible, but the only really slight against the idea is that its unprecedented. That aside, there's nothing that stops these two being brought together making an awesome spin-off film. Now it's been miraculously brought back to life, Fox are more than happy to let The Planet Of The Apes run for as long as it can. However, there is an end game (spoiler - it's in the title) and once they reach there something a little more creative would be needed to keep the franchise going. And what better way to continue the resurrection of a beloved sci-fi franchise than by the resurrection of another? The reason The Planet Of The Apes is currently only inching its way to being fully risen is because once apes rule the world things get decidedly less interesting. It's just a religiously obsessed, scientifically blind society that has a bunch of slaves, which doesn't lend itself to being a visually resplendent blockbuster. Bringing in Predator, however, solves that problem. Fox have the rights to both and it certainly fits the latter franchise's set-up mythology; Predators are known to hunt humans, often as a right of passage for younger members, and surely humanity's stronger genetic ancestors (who now have high intelligence) would be an even more enticing prey. For Apes fans it could easily be too much, but with the Yautja DOA after the great, but underviewed Predators, this would be a way for Fox to bring them back into the public eye.
