8 Ridiculously Awesome Movie Crossovers (That Could Actually Happen)

2. G.I. Joe And Transformers

Pretty much everything wrong with the excruciating Transformers movies stems from Michael Bay - the sexism, the racism, the military-worshipping, the bloated run-time and the head-bangingly irritating action are all his trademarks. Strip away the Bayhem, however, and the main fundamental issue is that the series, which, let's not forget, is all about robots that turn into cars, spends very little time dealing with the robots that turn into cars. Admittedly it's hard to get the studio to back a movie that doesn't have a human to serve as an audience in and marquee name, especially for a franchise that could easily get lost in its complex lore otherwise (Transformers goes to some ridiculous places). But if you must include some real people, why not choose some that are actually interesting? Which brings us nicely to the general motivation behind the most obvious movie crossover that perplexingly is yet to happen - put G.I. Joe in the Transformers universe. Paramount have the rights to both and they should nicely offset each others weaknesses; G.I. Joe in live-action could do with some better villains and Transformers really needs a sense of fun. G.I. Joe's recent cinematic output has been far from the financial disaster some believe it to be, with both movies turning a small profit (turned massive by merchandising), but as an accentuation of the immensely popular Transformers films they could become much bigger.
