8 Scariest Creatures In Film

7. General Woundwort - Watership Down

Watership-Down Many a parent has mistakenly allowed their child to watch Watership Down, imagining a Disney-esque cartoon populated with adorable bunnies and in fact traumatising their innocent offspring. I myself vividly remember the horrifying scene where Bigwig is caught in a snare. Unfortunately for my parents, the blood seeping onto the grass is no less alarming for being an animation. Sadly that isn't the most harrowing part of the film. The rabbits have trekked across fields and hills trying to establish their own warren €“ Watership Down €“ but although they have settled, the work is not over. They need females in order for the warren to be successful. However, all the local ladies inhabit a totalitarian warren under the dictatorial paw of General Woundwort. General Woundwart is a fearsome rabbit. His ears are ragged, he's missing an eye and he is absolutely huge. General Woundwort is unawed by bigger animals and, like all the best dictators, is concerned with nothing more than holding onto his power. Any dissent is dealt with by violence, either from him or ordered by him, savaging weaker rabbits without a second thought. General Woundwort's final moments are spent launching himself towards a dog, and he lives on in the memories of the rabbits as a kind of bogieman. Unsurprisingly.

I'll watch anything, so long as it has a juicy plot, a couple of twists and hopefully a few scares. My favourite films include The Fugitive, The Last Starfighter and The Secret In Their Eyes. Television wise, I'm a big fan of the Nordic Noir, Sherlock and Doctor Who. All the classics!
