8 Science Fiction Movies Ruined By Their Twists

6. Hancock

Another superhero movie toying with the expectation of the genre, Hancock was the first attempt at creating an antihero in big, blockbuster fashion. Will Smith is the Deadpool before Deadpool, I guess.

Hancock is a movie of mixed tones, bringing together comedy, action, and drama to create something that doesn't really make itself any of those one things. It only makes sense that a messy film then has a messy late game reveal then, and this one turns out to be that the woman he's been pining for is actually a superhero herself, that's immortal, and also his kryptonite as they're both gods and serve to function as each others weaknesses. Oh, and they were married a while back but he forgot after being bashed on the head. Alright then.

It's a really bizarre turn of events that again shifts the tone of the film, never quite settling on what it's actually trying to be. Playing as a straight action movie might have been more beneficial for fans left scratching their heads after this one.
