This may at first appear to be a rather superficial observation in the face of the fact that the trailer for this comedy isn't once funny, but when every other part of the film revealed has a major question mark lurking over it, there's something refreshing about one element being undeniably cool without the need for extrapolation. I am, of course, talking about the new weapons. In the original movies it was all about the proton pack, which reliably makes a striking appearance here, but the armoury has been considerably expanded for the new film, with various 'Busters sporting anti-spectral pistols and fold-out mini-rifles. By far the most most exciting, however, is some sort of glove sported by Abby that allows here to punch ghosts, something that is undeniably cool and has some incredible potential applications. And, if all else fails, we do still have the updated proton packs. Ghostbusters may not quite have sold people on its humour, but there's enough in the trailer to point towards the "action" part of that "action-comedy" genre definition being pretty solid.
