8 Speculated Plot Points We'll See In Batman VS Superman

7. Some Super Sleuthing Where Secret Identities Are Uncovered, And The First Few Encounters End In Clashes

superman-vs-batman This is the "fun & games" portion of Save the Cat that occurs between minutes 30 and 55. According to Snyder, this is the part where we see the "promise of the premise," I.E. this is the bulk of where Batman and Superman have their bouts and confrontations. I'm guessing that this part will play out much the same way it did in The Dark Knight, where the Joker comes out on top after each encounter. Being the world's best detective, Batman discovers that mild mannered Clark Kent is really the Man of Steel. Superman might use his x-ray vision to discover Batman's identity, as he did in Superman: the Animated Series. However, Batman hopefully outclasses him so much that he doesn't even get the chance to peek under the bat cowl. Why? Well, that'll come later in this article and boy might it be a twist! After, they have their first clash, where the Dark Knight outsmarts Superman and comes out on top. He has no knowledge of Superman's weaknesses, and this will simply act as a test to feel him out. The next time they meet Superman wins, but this is just a false victory, and this will be the "midpoint." We've seen this in the Dark Knight when the Joker only pretends to be caught, or when Loki allows S.H.I.E.L.D. to lock him up in the Helicarrier during The Avengers or when Silva lets Bond arrest him in Skyfall or when in Star Trek: Into Darkness--okay, you get the idea. This is the part when Batman might let Superman catch him and take him to the Fortress of Solitude, where he might be able to, oh I dunno, find the previously foreshadowed weakness maybe? It might happen that way; it might not, but we are sure to see a perceived victory for Superman over Batman, since this is his movie after all and Batman can't just kick him around the entire time.
