1. Green Lantern: Greatest Stories Ever Told
DC has had some problems with cinematic interpretations of the Green Lantern. The 2011 Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern film was both a critical and box office failure, so in an attempt to distance themselves from that film, DC will not be releasing the next Green Lantern film until 2020. Needless to say, they havent released any information about the film, such as which version of the Green Lantern they plan to use. The problem DC faces is that the franchise is so large, encompassing hundreds of characters. For example, over the decades, there have been a total of five different members of the Green Lantern Corps who have come from earth, any of which could potentially show up in the cinematic Justice League. Because DC has not announced any details about their plans for the franchise, the best comic recommendation for those who want a working knowledge of the Green Lanterns is Green Lantern: The Greatest Stories Ever Told. This graphic novel is a compilation of the greatest hits of the Green Lantern spanning 40 years of stories. And though the main focus of this book is Hal Jordan (the first Earth Lantern), Green Lantern: The Greatest Stories Ever Told also introduces the three other main Earth Lanterns DC has used throughout the years.
