5. The Invaders
Type of Adaptation: MCU Movie Hey Marvel, heres an idea, lets move away from the modern day setting of North America and develop a WW2 period superhero movie. I know, I know weve seen this in the Captain America: The First Avenger and Agent Carter mini series but whats not to love about fighting Nazis? Lets imagine a Saving Private Ryan style beach invasion with super powered heroes fighting alongside the Yanks and Brits. Who wouldnt want to see that? The original Invaders line up consisted of Captain America, Namor the Submariner and the original Human Torch (along with sidekicks Bucky and mini human torch Toro). I am not suggesting that this is the line up Marvel use in a movie versions, there have been several interesting members of the team throughout the years that would be more than fine to see on the big screen. Theres Spitfire, Union Jack, US Agent and Blazing Skull to name but a few. An Invaders movie could see cameos from Steve Rodgers, Bucky Barnes, Agent Carter or any of the Howling Commandos to keep the audience connected to the MCU. The beauty of the MCU is that the movies dont necessarily need to feed into the overarching story. What they do offer is familiar set of rules and conventions that dont need to be explained in every movie. Perhaps Marvel might consider a movie in a different time period in order to keep the MCU fresh.
