8 Superheroes That Deserve A Live Action Adaptation

3. Doom Patrol

Type of Adaptation: DCCU Movie People with special abilities trained to be superheroes by a wheelchair bound professor. That sounds familiar. Despite some obvious similarities, lets be clear - Doom Patrol is not the X-Men. The heroes of Doom Patrol were not born with gifts in fact their powers are not gifts at all but side effects of tragic accidents, science experiments and mistakes. In any other comic book these characters would be supervillians and that€™s where lies the fun. There have been several incarnations of the team but the most beloved are: Robotman €“ a race car driver whose body died and brain was transferred into an indestructible robot, Beast Boy €“ a boy who can transform into a green version of any animal (real or mythological) of his choice, Elasti-Girl €“ an actress who can increase or decrease her size at will and Negative Man- a severely burned test pilot who can release a radioactive spirit of himself capable of flight, intangibility and super speed. The Chief, Niles Caulder, who, through his genius level intellect and amassed wealth, has designed solutions for the doomed team member€™s survival, leads this team. Doom Patrol launched in June 1963, three months before the launch of Marvel€™s X-Men and although it has never had the popularity of the Marvel series the characters have continued to play a part of the DC Universe. Their storylines are strange science fiction fueled adventures unseen and unknown to the general public. If DC is looking for another ensemble superhero property perhaps Doom Patrol is one they should seriously consider.
