8 Superheroes That Deserve A Live Action Adaptation

2. Nightwing

Type of Adaptation: Stand Alone Amazon Mini Series This is probably the most obvious entry of the list but it must be a suggestion. €˜Make a Nightwing TV series€™ said every fanboy ever!!! I get it, he€™s arguably the best DC character that isn€™t Batman even though he has been Batman. Dick Grayson isn€™t Batman-lite he is the light and soul of the DC universe. Orphaned by mob boss Tony Zucco, acrobat Richard Grayson was taken in by billionaire philanthropist Bruce Wayne. It was under Bruce€™s care that Grayson became the first and most well known Robin. This lasted until the 80s when Dick became disillusioned being a sidekick and looked to become his own man and superhero €“ Nightwing. As Nightwing he became the leader of the Teen Titans, joined the Justice League and even took the mantle of Batman a couple of times. He is connected to almost every DC character from Superman to John Constantine. He has lost his parents, his mentor (twice), his best friend was paralysed by the Joker and he was even raped once. Fans are never going to get a live action tv show of Batman (Gotham is the closest we'll ever get) and that€™s OK but a live adaptation of Nightwing is the next best thing and something DC and Warner Bros can feasibly do. The WB€™s Arrow has many of the elements that fans would like to see in a Nightwing adaptation, in particular the amount of minor Batman villains who appear on a weekly basis. However, Arrow is a PG TV show and as good as Arrow is it very much is Batman-lite. Imagine a gritty city based adult Nightwing show in a similar vein to Marvel€™s Daredevil or the journey of how Dick Grayson transformed from Robin to Nightwing. It doesn€™t even need to have Batman in it, just a few subtle references and shared supporting characters (Alfred, Barbara Gordon, Harvey Bullock). Presently DC has chosen to publically unmask Dick Grayson and transform him into a spy but lets hope that someday he will return to the rooftops of Bludhaven as the hero we know and love. Maybe even on the small screen€
