8 Theories About Spider-Man's Role In Captain America: Civil War

2. He'll Just Be In The Post-Credits Scene - With A Title Reveal

After Civil War, Spider-Man will be getting his own solo outing - a joint production between Marvel and Sony - which, so far, doesn't have a title. Given Marvel's other releases of this year both have titles, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Thor: Ragnarok, it could be considered strange that the Spider-Man film doesn't. Well, one theory claims to have the answer. It goes that we won't actually see Spider-Man during the film, but that his appearance will come in the traditional post-credits sting. It sees things going down quite similar to the comics, with Steve Rogers being defeated and then imprisoned. With the Civil War over, Stark begins a new initiative to have all heroes working with the government, and turns up in New York (as Iron Man) looking for a certain web-slinger. When they meet, Spider-Man initially but reluctantly accepts his offer, but then hits him in the face with some web and swings away. He goes into hiding, and joins up with the rest of whatever's left of Team Cap, who begin working as a sort of underground Avengers. This then ties into the solo Spider-Man outing, and rumours of Stark being something of a villain in that, and the title could be revealed at the end of the scene.
