8 Things You Could Probably Expect From Quentin Tarantino's Sci-Fi Movie

8. It Will Take Place On Earth

As great as it would be to see what Tarantino would do with a deep space science fiction adventure, he's stated that if he ever tackles the genre, he'll stick to the planet Earth. When speaking at the panel for his upcoming Django Unchained/Zorro crossover comic at San Diego Comic-Con last month, Tarantino had this to say about trying his hand at the science fiction genre:
"If you had asked me a few years ago I would have said: 'Nah, not really, I don't know.' But i have a little idea right now. It's a little flower, you know, like a bean sprout, but those tend to grow into stalks. So this is the first time I'll be able to say 'maybe.' It won't be a spaceship sci-fi, it'll be Earthbound."
Worry not, sci-fi fans, Tarantino could easily make a compelling film even if it isn't set in space. Plenty of great sci-fi movies haven't strayed away from Earth's atmosphere. Even with an Earthbound project, Tarantino could choose to dive into the deep end of the sci-fi pool (a la Planet of the Apes) or something more grounded (Looper, or perhaps an alien-invasion movie).
