J.J. Abrams and Justin Lin's trilogy features appearances from five MCU alumni throughout its three movies, most of which came before they starred in any Marvel movie. Only two of these have appeared in all three as a part of Captain Kirk's crew. Karl Urban as Bones and Zoe Saldana as Uhura made Star Trek appearances in 2009, 2013, and 2016, all before Urban appeared as Skurge in Thor: Ragnarok, with Saldana's appearance in 2016 being the only one since joining the Guardians of the Galaxy.

In each movie, Urban and Saldana have been joined by other member of the MCU, all three of which have appeared in the Thor franchise. In the opening scene of Star Trek in 2009, none other than the Mighty Thor himself, Chris Hemsworth, appeared as Captain Kirk's father.

In Star Trek: Into Darkness in 2013, three years before starring in Doctor Strange, and four years before Thor: Ragnarok, Benedict Cumberbatch brought to life classic Star Trek villain Khan, in an incredible, chilling performance. Rounding off the Star Trek/Thor crossover is Idris Elba. The man who played Heimdall in all three Thor movies and Infinity War played the villain of Star Trek Beyond, Krall.
