8 Times MCU Trailers Showed Way Too Much
3. Thor's Haircut - Thor: Ragnarok
This isn’t the first, or even the second entry from Thor: Ragnarok on this list. The marketing material for the movie was simply full of spoilers including Valkyrie’s side switch and Hela’s destruction of Mjolnir, but the worst thing of all was Thor’s hair.
Around halfway through the movie, after being captured by Valkyrie and before fighting Hulk, Thor gets his hair chopped off by Stan Lee’s wonderfully eccentric barber. This, in and of itself, wasn’t a massive spoiler, but it did split the scenes in the trailer into two parts.
There were those that took place before Thor’s haircut, and those that took place after. This allowed fans to put together almost a timeline of the story and figure out a loose plot before ever going to the cinemas.
Unfortunately, this meant that there were actually very few surprises in the movie, or twists and turns that weren’t already expected. With Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige usually going to such great lengths to protect secrets and spoilers, it seems odd that so much was simply given away in the trailer unnecessarily.
