6. The Power Rangers Insensitivity Of Lionsgate

As part of the promotional push for 2017's Power Rangers reboot, Lionsgate served up movie posters showcasing each of the film's titular Rangers. Taking to social media, these posters were sent out online to get fans excited about what lay ahead for the refresh of this famed property.

All sounds pretty standard, right?

Normally, this would all be fine and dandy. Instead, Lionsgate showed a glaring lack of sensitivity and a total lack of awareness to the history of the Power Rangers franchise.

In taking to Twitter to show off the poster for Becky G's Yellow Ranger, someone high up the food chain at Lionsgate decided that the perfect caption to go with this poster was "Driver's Ed not required". As soon as that poster went live online, fans instantly directed a major backlash the way of Lionsgate.

For those not aware, the first actress to play the Yellow Ranger back in the original Powers Rangers show was Thuy Trang. On 3 September 2001, Thuy Trang tragically died in a car accident.

It goes without saying that you can fully understand why so many long-time franchise fans would find Lionsgate's marketing approach to the Yellow Ranger as highly disrespectful.
