5. Seaspray & Cosmos
Seaspray is one of the smaller Autobots and is around the same size as Bumblebee, who turns in to a small hovercraft. I have a feeling when they were brainstorming what the new line of toys were going to be like they may have headed the page 'Have we had a robot that turns into....' and then they got to 'small hovercraft' and left it at that. Heaven knows why a character with such a random alternate mode played such a big role on the TV series. The most memorable part of the cartoon version was his voice: Imagine Bane from The Dark Knight Rises but, like, underwater. Characters such as Soundwave and Seaspray, who have ridiculous voices, are always the ones who get imitated in the playground. At least Soundwave's voice was more cold and threatening. There was also an episode where Seaspray magically becomes human, yet he still keeps that irritating robot voice (and robot feet). Cosmos on the other hand transforms into a b-movie style flying saucer. This obviously fits in with the 'space' theme, but in terms of scale he is tiny - plus if he is a 'Robot In Disguise' how does a UFO fit in on planet Earth? The movies have plenty of space vehicles, but I don't see how a little green UFO would fit in the Hollywood movies. Neither would a small hovercraft in a battlefield full of tanks and sports cars, though.
