8 Unexpected Positives From Marvel's Ant-Man

5. The Supporting Cast

The casting department made some very smart choices when it comes to Ant-Man, ones that really add to the story and make the experience much more enjoyable.

In addition to the three leads of the film (Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly) there is Corey Stoll as villain Darren Cross/Yellowjacket, who brings just about the right level of menace to the role. If the MCU has had a weakness thus far it€™s the villains, but Stoll does a pretty solid job here.

Bobby Cannavale isn€™t given too much to do, but he still manages to prove entertaining and engaging whenever he appears on screen. David Dastmalchian and T.I. are good fun as two of the three ex-cons helping Rudd€™s Scott Lang, but it€™s the third of these who really steals the show.

Michael Peña is his former cellmate, and one of the absolute highlights of the film, managing to steal almost every scene he€™s in and responsible for some of the film€™s funniest moments. Casting is generally something Marvel get spot-on, and Ant-Man is no exception.
