8 "Upcoming" Superhero Movies That Will Never Actually Happen

6. Cyborg

The Film: The standalone film of DC superhero Cyborg, played by Ray Fisher, after the character has also appeared in Batman V Superman and Justice League Parts 1 & 2. Cyborg is a human whose body has largely been replaced with advanced technology, granting him enhanced abilities such as super strength. It's one of the last on DC's mammoth slate, scheduled to arrive in 2020. Why It Won't Happen: Because of that last part, as who the hell knows what's going to happen with the DC Extended Universe in four or five years. Warner Bros. have manically rushed into development with their DC adaptations, looking for something to rival Marvel, and on the film side of things it seems a bit of a mess (they're actually owning it on TV, but are strangely ignoring that for their movies). Hopefully they'll manage to pull off a surprise, and Batman V Superman, Justice League and the rest will be great films, because they could and should be. However, if a couple of them flop, then it'll start to have an impact on the rest of their plans. With Cyborg being placed towards the end of this, and as one of the riskiest and least-known projects on the slate, then this is one mechanical hero that will be sent to the junkyard.
