8 Ways Avengers: Infinity War Proves Marvel Have Learnt From Their Mistakes
3. There's Finally A Visual And Musical Identity
While every movie in the MCU is pretty well put together from a pure production standpoint, two main areas have always taken a bit of flack: the visuals and the scores. Both of those things have started to improve recently though, with the likes of Thor: Ragnarok, Black Panther and Infinity War having their own distinct visual and musical identities.
Infinity War goes one step further though, finally giving the MCU a proper theme and set of sonic motifs that elevate narrative beats. Alan Silvestri came back to score the flick (and its sequel), and the way he plays around with the core Avengers theme - using it effectively in one brilliant punch-the-air sequence - as well as riffing on the individual scores of specific characters, helps sell the fact that this really is the culmination of an entire series.
It's a visual spectacle too, and although the likes of Guardians of the Galaxy created some pretty imaginative cosmic settings, none have come close to the grandeur of those in Infinity War.
