There have been whispers about this iconic Marvel event being in the works for the Cinematic Universe, and given Marvel's readiness to bring cosmic threats to Earth, it's no stretch to imagine that the shape-shifting race could sneak onto the planet in all the chaos, especially with the MCU rolling out the red carpet for these aliens in the upcoming Captain Marvel film.
With the film set in the mid-nineties, it's just as likely that Skrulls who've been around for years, embedded as agents on Earth, will be revealed after the battle.
It'd be intriguing to have Netflix's Marvel heroes handle the mistrust and terror brought about by invaders with a cult-like worship of a queen and the ability to impersonate loved ones. In fact, it would be a good way for Jessica Jones to show off her skills as a PI, since it's been shown that her real strength isn't so much her super strength as it is her inquiring mind.
If Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D can write about Inhumans after an ancient Kree reveal while Guardians has Ronan as their quintessential Kree overlord, then the films and TV franchises can share the paranoia-inducing Skrulls on both storytelling fronts.
