8 Worst Parents In Horror Movies

7.Pamela Voorhees - Friday The 13th(1980)

Original1 I know what you're thinking: Why is she on this list? She was just a grieving mother that went a little nuts. I won't disagree but if she hadn't done certain things, her son wouldn't have drowned in the first place. First, she had Jason when she was 16. Teen pregnancy isn't horrible, but at 16 most lack the necessary coping skills to deal with traumatic events. In other words, something like postpartum depression could be amplified. Add a child with hydrocephalus, and you've got a ticking time bomb. Jason never went to school because Pamela was very overprotective, and I'm guessing that's also why she didn't find a babysitter when she took that job as a cook at Crystal Lake. Instead of keeping a close eye on her son, she just left him in the cabin and relied on the camp counselors to look after him, and we all know the rest of the story. The point I'm trying to make is the events she went through lead to some poor choices. I don't think she was ready to have a kid, let alone a deformed one. If her mental state had been a little more stable, things could've turned out vastly different. But then we wouldn't have one of the most popular horror franchises. It's a bit of a toss-up.
