8 Worst Slasher Horror Movie Fakeout Endings

1. Slaughter High

Slaughter High is very much a daft, enjoyable slasher centred around glorious revenge, with Simon Scuddamore's Marty Rantzen doling out said revenge.

As the picture opens, we see Marty relentlessly bullied in high school. When a particular prank gets out of hand, a flaming dose of acid renders this youngster horrifically disfigured. Skipping ahead ten years, Slaughter High then sees the bullies of the film invited to a reunion at their old school... where a masked figures offs them one-by-one.

Of course, this killer is Marty, and he certainly gets inventive with his roaring rampage of revenge; burning one victim in a bathtub of acid, spiking one victim's beer so that his stomach explodes, and even electrocuting a couple who've slinked off to have sex.

With all of his tormentors eventually killed, Marty is then haunted by the ghosts of his victims. In almost Dawn of the Dead-esque make-up, the deceased stalk Marty through the old school halls, where he becomes trapped.

Somewhat bizarrely, it's insinuated that bulk of the movie up until this point had been one giant fakeout, with Marty waking up in hospital and seemingly having hallucinated all of the prior carnage as part of the trauma of the initial fiery disfigurement he'd undergone.

Still, that doesn't stop Marty from stabbing his doctor in the eye with a needle in gnarly fashion as the film ends.
