Max Landis may have offered an update back in December 2017 on his script for the remake of his father's classic horror An American Werewolf In London, but there's been precious little by way of an update since then. Last we heard, he'd completed it, but was well aware of what he was up against:

“Finishing my first draft of An American Werewolf In London today. Took me way longer than usual because every time I opened the Final Draft file my laptop would slam closed under the weight of my father’s expectations.”

Maybe we're going to hear more on the controversial project's progress soon and it's not like it needs a director, with Landis himself apparently attached, but it just seems awfully strange that everything has dried up on it. There surely has to be a reason?

Perhaps Hollywood's lean into more semi-sequel projects (like Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle) has changed the goalposts? Who knows at this stage, but that's why no updates tend to be worrying.
