9 Actors Who Could Completely Ruin Their Upcoming Movies
3. Harry Styles - Unknown (Dunkirk)
A new Christopher Nolan trailer is always going to spark a lot of discussion online, but alongside the usual "Wow that looks incredible" and "It would have been better if Bruce had died" comments, when Dunkirk's "Announcement" (do Warner Bros. release that by not calling these trailers they're losing millions of clicks?) hit last month they were joined with a new debate: "Where's Harry Styles?"
Yes, former One Direction helmer and inexplicable heartthrob Styles is making his feature debut in Nolan's latest. Of course, this is a director who's well proven in making unexpected-yet-astute casting choices and it's fair to say he's unlikely to be as prominent as the big hitters in the movie - the cast list is incomparable, with Tom Hardy, Cillian Murphy, James D'Arcy, Mark Rylance and Kenneth Branagh all appearing - but nobody was clamouring when they didn't appear.
One problem there is impact - a new Nolan movie is a cultural event, and it is a concern that this could really could deflect much of the coverage of a rather serious film - although the bigger question is more on his inexperience; Styles has never acted before, and while he could wind up an Edward Norton, it's certainly a question mark over an otherwise overwhelmingly anticipated film.
