This entry has less to do with getting drunk for the purposes of a better performance and more to do with an actual drinking problem, but nevertheless it's interesting and quite unexpected. According to Radcliffe himself (who became teetotal in 2010, the year Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows Part 1 released) he was frequently drunk while on the set of the Harry Potter film series. Radcliffe even admitted that he could point out specific scenes in which he was dead behind the eyes. Radcliffe claims that he began to develop a drinking problem during the filming of The Half-Blood Prince, citing the effect fame was having on his life as one of the key reasons for his drinking. As well as that, he also admitted to having a very addictive personality, which fuelled his penchant for drinking. With all that said, the actor claims to never have actually drank on-set he merely showed up to work already drunk.
