9 Actors Who Hated Working On Harry Potter Movies

5. Rik Mayall (Peeves)

Rik Mayall has one major reason to be annoyed about his time working on Harry Potter above every other actor on this list, given that his part was actually cut.

The late comic legend was cast as Peeves the poltergeist, and while certainly not a vital inclusion from the source material, is nevertheless a fan favourite character and one who Mayall seemed perfectly cast to play.

Sadly the character was cut from the first film - and therefore the rest of the series - due to director Chris Columbus being unhappy with the character's look.

In the hilarious below interview, Mayall details his experience shooting the role, referring to Harry Potter as "the most exciting film [he's] ever been in," but also "s**t," seeming more concerned with getting paid than the fact that his part was cut.

As a ridiculous cherry on top, Mayall sent his family to the premiere while was away on tour, yet forget to tell them that he'd been cut. And so, his kids came away inexplicably assuming he had been playing Hagrid under layers and layers of makeup. Right.

Sadly despite tireless requests from fans, no official footage of Mayall as Peeves has ever been released. Boo.
