9 Actors Who Made A Comeback In 2015

5. Jonathan Pryce

Big 2015 Films (And TV Shows): Wolf Hall, Game Of Thrones, Woman In Gold, The Salvation Jonathan Pryce has been popping up in movies and TV shows here or there for decades, but has never really been able to elevate himself beyond being best described as 'that bloke from Brazil'. All that changed in 2015, where in addition to the requisite 'that guy in that thing' roles in the likes of mid-range films The Salvation and Woman In Gold, he had some prominent turns in the year's biggest TV shows. He kicked things off well with Wolf Hall, the BBC Tudor drama where he had a supporting role as Thomas Wolsey, but really struck oil as the High Sparrow in Game Of Thrones. One of the series' most ambiguous villains, with motives that still remain incredibly murky, the church leader brought King's Landing to its knees, stripping power from many of the series' key players. Understatedly menacing to the extreme, Pryce showed there was more to him than being another British old guy. Not only is he back for Season 6 of Thrones (with, because we've now overtaken the books, an uncertain fate), but it's likely that, like fellow Westerosi comebackers Charles Dance and Diana Rigg, this will lead to even bigger things.
