9 Actors Who Sacrificed Everything For Terrible Movies

7. Ashton Kutcher Gets Rushed To Hospital - Jobs (2013)

The first attempt to turn Steve Jobs' life into a movie was an absolute disaster start to finish. Directed by Joshua Michael Stern and starring a riskily cast Ashton Kutcher in the title role, Jobs suffers from a clear lack of ambition, failing to really dig into its subject or say anything interesting about the man behind one of modern technology's biggest companies.

In hopes of properly embodying the character, Kutcher decided to follow the real-life diet of Jobs, who was a fruitarian. Before the film began shooting, the actor lived off only fruits, nuts, seeds and water.

Unfortunately, this led to him being rushed to hospital days before production was set to begin. There, he was diagnosed with pancreatitis and put on a series of powerful pain killers.

He eventually pulled through and got to work, ready to show the world that his preparation was worth it and that he was ready to be taken seriously as a dramatic actor, but it was all in vain, as the film was critical and commercial flop with very little worth remembering.

I get to write about what I love, so that's pretty cool. Every great film should seem new every time you see it. Be excellent to each other.
