1. John K. - The Ren & Stimpy Show
By the end of Season 2 of The Ren & Stimpy Show, creator John Kricfalusi had become a God within animation circles for his irreverent humor and distinctive art style. He was a rebel that set new boundaries. He changed how far was too far and helped pave the way for the streams of gross out animation we see today. Kricfalusi's rebellious nature also got him in trouble, though. Deadlines were routinely missed. Some due to Nickolodeon's censorship protocol, some (if Nickelodeon are to be believed) due to Kricfalusi's failure to submit work in the first place. Tensions grew between the two parties. It is John K.'s belief that the straw that broke the camel's back was a particularly violent episode in which Ren psychotically beats a man with an oar at the climax. Nickelodeon terminated Kricfalusi's contract before the start of season 3. Now, do bare in mind that John K. was also the voice of Ren and his departure meant that a new voice actor would have to come in. Well, you'd think so, anyway. Nickelodeon cruelly found a way around the problem. Get Billy West - the voice of Stimpy - to do both voices, despite the fact that Kricfalusi had asked him to leave, too, as a show of solidarity. Cruel.
