2. Mel Gibson - Mad Max
Okay, so the entire cast was dubbed out for the American release of Mad Max due to their thick Australian accents. I always felt like struggling to understand alien accents fits the bill for the post-apocalyptic aesthetic, but whatever. What makes this so cruel, though, is that - as we've seen in quite a few films - the American accent is one of the few that Mel Gibson can do quite convincingly. He was, after all, born in America. It seems reasonable then, that even if it was necessary to dub the voices for the American release, Gibson should've been the man to provide the voice of his character. Nope! Dubbed out. How cruel. And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
