9 Authors Who Made Terrible Films Of Their Own Books

4. Frank Miller - Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Frank Miller may be responsible for some influential comics, but it€™s fair to say he hasn€™t been on his best form in recent years. His comics €“ like the dreadful Holy War €“ has been a shadow of his former work and long-time fans have been turned off by some of his personal views too. After 300 and Sin City were turned into successful movies he decided to give it a try with The Spirit; resulting in one of the worst comic book movies ever. He tried again with A Dame To Kill For, which he wrote and co-directed with Robert Rodriguez. Where the original felt fresh and vibrant upon release, the decade-late sequel was just the opposite; it was a clumsy, shallow action flick where even the gratuitous nudity and violence became a bore; and Eva Green naked is not something people should be bored by. Miller doesn€™t have any other film jobs lined up in the future, which is for the best really.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
