1. Thor - Artificial Lightning

[SPOILERS] "Whosoever holds this hammer, if he be worthy, will possess the power of Thor." Thor is the god of thunder and lightning and it's awesome to see him throw lightning bolts at his enemies. Even if you're not Thor, you could still wield his power if you're worthy - as Captain Americal proved in Endgame. The entire theater screamed when Cap picked up the hammer and started tossing lightning.

You don't have to be worthy to wield lightning though. In 2012, engineers at Picatinny Arsenal started experimenting with an artificial lightning rifle. Instead of letting the lightning travel randomly, the rifle creates a path by ionizing the air between the gun and the target. Then the lightning blast follows the ionized path until it reaches its target and viola, you're Thor without the need for his hammer.

While most of these superhero technologies aren't available commercially, we're moving in the right direction to turn average humans into superheroes. What do you think of this potentially brave new world?
