9 Awesome Deleted Scenes From The Dark Knight Trilogy

4. Joker On The Bus

The Dark Knight Trilogy is full of incredible stunts made all the more incredible by the fact that most of them were done for real. One of the most memorable of them is the destruction of Gotham General Hospital by the Joker in The Dark Knight, which involved the actual demolition of an old candy factory in Chicago. While the finished film ended up presenting the thrilling explosion from only two angles, the scene was actually filmed from multiple points of view, including the inside of the bus as the Joker escapes from the mayhem without looking back. It's another rare intimate glimpse of Heath Ledger's Joker that didn't make the final cut. What's notable is how almost disinterested the Joker is in his own chaos; a stark contrast to how you would expect every other interpretation of the character's to react. It's just one of the many ways in which Ledger's version is so unique while still maintaining the core essence of the maniac. But as great as this angle of the destruction is, as Nolan himself said, it would have taken away from the impact and simplicity of the scene. Cutting it was a good call, and at least it's one of the few deleted scenes available for viewing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R-iuuwOtsow
