9 Awesome Fan Theories About Avengers: Infinity War

Marvel Studios should just let the fans write their movies!

Fan theories are strange things. All they ever end up achieving is the angering of fans who disagree with them and the raising of people's hopes for things that don't actually end up happening - which effectively makes them a high-class form of trolling - and yet we can't seem to get enough of them! In the past, they've included such nonsense as claiming that Jurassic World's Owen Grady is a grown-up version of the annoying fat kid in Jurassic Park (spoiler: he's not) and that Harry Potter's Ron Weasley is a time-travelling Dumbledore (spoiler: he's not) - and the latest doozy is that Christian Bale is reprising his role as Batman because Ben Affleck is actually playing Deathstroke in the DCEU (spoiler: he's not). However, they're not all that stupid and some of the theories that Marvel Cinematic Universe fans have about the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War movies are actually pretty cool.

9. Captain America Will Die Right At The Start

There is an iconic scene at the end of Civil War in which Iron Man - who had been violently facing off with Captain America in the same story - sits distraught next to the Super Soldier's corpse, after he is killed by Crossbones and a brainwashed Sharon Carter. However, you shouldn€™t expect Captain America to die in next year€™s Civil War movie, as he is expected to participate in the Infinity War. One convincing fan theory instead believes he will be killed right at the start of the Infinity War, though, and that aforementioned iconic scene will be recreated belatedly. The theory suggests that Thanos will kill Cap right off the bat, kicking the arc off with a massive bang and allowing Bucky Barnes to step up to the plate as the new Captain America right there and then. It makes sense, as it would give the heroes a reason to reunite after having been split in the Civil War event - and it would make Thanos' eventual inevitable demise all the more satisfying for fans.
