9 Awesome Supporting Characters Who Should Have Their Own Spin-Off

7. Hit Girl - Kick-Ass

The Character: Hit Girl really kicks ass. First getting on people's radar for her gracious use of the c-word, Mindy Macready, better known by her crimefighting alias, went on to offer more than just a potty mouth. The daughter of a disgraced cop trained up to bring down the head of the mob, Hit Girl was undoubtedly the standout star of Matthew Vaugn's Kick-Ass. Her action sequences were some of the most inventive in years, thanks in no small part to the sheer thrill of a pre-teen taking down rooms of goons. Expanded upon in the sequel, she was one of the few elements from the original that didn't feel totally watered down in that disappointing second outing; going to high school she got to faced with everyday teenage problems and dealt with them as well as any psychopath would. Why A Spin-Off Would Be Awesome: Well for starters Hit Girl's already had her own spin-off in the comics. A bridge between Kick-Ass 1 and 2 (comic version), the graphic novel spin-off was pretty much mined dry for her arc in Kick-Ass 2. However, it shows she can work as a protagonist and that film's ending, with Mindy heading off for a new life, offers plenty of unhindered potential. The second film did poorly in all courts (clearly people don't connect with attempted rape played for laughs), so it looks like the series is dead (on film at least), but if they wanted to bring it back without the baggage of Dave Lizewski, a solo Hit Girl would be a good way to go.
