Kang the Conqueror is one of the best and most underrated characters in Marvel comic books. Although he is mostly associated with foes like the Avengers, having been a consistent thorn in their side since his 1964 introduction, he does have links to the Guardians of the Galaxy and a Guardians movie could be a good way to introduce him to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Kang would bring time-travel and the possibility of alternate timelines with him, which would add entirely unexplored dimensions to the movie world and which could be extremely interesting. His intellect combined with his large array of powers (stemming from his armoured suit) make him a multi-layered threat. Hes from an alternate timeline to the main 616 universe, where he is related to both Reed Richards and Victor Von Doom two characters whom he rivals on an intellectual level, which is something only a handful of beings in fiction can lay claim to doing. His association with the Guardians is a strange one. Despite being a villain, as a general rule, he actually helped Star-Lord and his crew after arriving in their timeline on his travels, after they survived a space-time tear known as the Fault. Kang warns the team of the imminent threat posed to them by one of their allies, Adam Warlock, who has been consumed by his evil dark self, Magus (who we have previously mentioned on this list). Initially displaying heroic qualities, Kang could go on to show his true self - perhaps revealing himself to have used the Guardians for his own means or finding that this timeline is worth conquering and simply changing his motives. He could then go on to be an all-out villain in a future Avengers movie. So there you have it - nine awesome villains for a Guardians of the Galaxy sequel. Do you agree?
