9 Awesome Villains For A Guardians Of The Galaxy Sequel

2. Magus

Magus' introduction to the Marvel Cinematic Universe would be cool for a couple of reasons - first, he's a great villain unto himself and, second, it would mean the introduction of Adam Warlock, who is a fantastic character. Although there have been a few different versions Magus, they are generally portrayed as a corrupted version of Adam Warlock, though one was a physical avatar of his evil nature, existing completely independently from him. The original Magus, however, is Warlock's future, evil self who has travelled to the past and rules a religious empire called the Universal Church of Truth. To ensure his own creation, he guides his younger self through a series of actions that will result in his becoming the Magus. He is an incredibly powerful villain who has killed half of the Guardians of the Galaxy in one sly move, whereby he pretended to be dead and then unleashed an attack on them when they least expected it. As previously touched upon, Adam Warlock is a great character (possessing a host of powers that include massive energy manipulation capabilities) and Magus' defeat would leave Warlock as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his non-evil form - and that could lead to all kinds of developments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (for example, Warlock plays a key part in the Infinity Gauntlet storyline in the comic books).
