Often looked upon as just a funny brief moment in The Wizard of Oz, the Munchkins were the local residents of Munchkinland where Judy Garland's character Dorothy, crashlands in her house. Singing their humorous songs about representing the Lollipop Guild and so on, we often look back fondly on these characters. Onset, however, it was a different story.

Behind the scenes of the classic magical film, the adult dwarf actors were often drunk on set. All the onset dwarf actors were also put into one hotel where they got smashed every night according to Garland. One night at the hotel the situation got out of hand and the local police were called in to deal with the non-stop partying. Their hands were too small for cuffs and the officers weren't equipped with restraints of a suitable size, so the hotel laundry was eventually called on to help. Policemen then emerged from the foyer, each holding a very energetic pillowcase.

The Dwarfs were allegedly sleeping three in a bed and would have flings almost nightly. According to crew members, some female Munchkins were also said to have tried selling themselves to the male crew members.
