As it stands, it's implied that Jones' affair with Marion takes place when he's twenty-seven and she's around seventeen, but George Lucas was desperate to lower the age, because It would be amusing to make her slightly young at the time." Yeah...amusing. According to Lucas, "Jones could have known this little girl when she was just a kid. Had an affair with her when she was eleven." I don't need to explain why this would have destroyed the film.
