9 Bizarre Early Drafts That Nearly Destroyed Your Favourite Films

5. Jurassic World Was Set To Feature Dinosaur Soldiers

2015's Jurassic World had a lot to live up to (at least when compared to Jurassic Park). That it managed to please so many fans and critics is something of a triumph, even if this victory was garnered through playing it relatively safe. At its core, Jurassic World doesn't stray too far from the tried and tested formula: take a bunch of dinosaurs, stick them in captivity, then watch as they break loose and wreak violent havoc. The most innovative thing in Jurassic World is a single genetically modified dinosaur, the Indominus rex. But the Indominus rex is a mere leftover from a much stranger earlier script. The first script of Jurassic World (then known as simply Jurassic Park 4) supposedly featured genetically altered dinosaur soldiers, complete with frankly hilarious-looking dinosaur/human hybrids. Leaked concept art revealed velociraptors with dinosaur legs and human torsos, muscular humans with long claws and Tyrannosaurus Rexes with lengthy arms. Regardless of the actual plot, the dinosaurs just look baffling, and it'd be impossible to take such bizarre hybrids seriously.
