9 Bizarre Minor Movie Cameos Made By Massive Actors

9. Judi Dench's Scandalous One-Line Part In Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

Judi Dench is known for making an impact with minimal screentime; she famously won the Best Supporting Actress for Shakespeare In Love despite only appearing as Queen Elizabeth I for a sum total of eight minutes, even commenting on the ridiculousness of it in her acceptance speech (although any Oscar that movie got on the night felt a bit outrageous). That's nothing compared to how brief her shock cameo is in Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides though.

Playing another well-off lady with unclear sexual wants (OK, a stretch of a parallel there, but you get the picture), she's an aristocrat riding a carriage through the streets of London who is oh-so briefly interrupted by a galavanting Jack Sparrow. He randomly and amorously kisses her neck, before getting back to his escapade (in this case running from soldiers), leaving her more than a little stunned, before realising all that heavy petting was to remove one of her fancy earrings.

And then that's it. We never see Dame Judi again. It's a minor comedic beat that could have been played by any old extra, but having the esteemed stage and screen actress take it on makes it the most memorable part of an utterly forgettable film (in case you didn't realise, it was the fourth one).
