9 Bizarre Minor Movie Cameos Made By Massive Actors
8. Daniel Craig's Totally Expected (Yet Still Surprising) Turn In Star Wars: The Force Awakens
There were so many rumours swirling around about Star Wars: The Force Awakens pre-release of varying levels of spoilerificness it was hard to know what to believe. One of the most bizarre was that Daniel Craig has actually shot a scene as a stormtrooper, which was kicked off by a seemingly slip-up from Simon Pegg (who himself played Unkar Plutt) and gained validity due to both Episode VII and Spectre shooting at Pinewood around the same time. Craig denied it, however, saying F*cking hell! Pffft. Play an extra in another movie, and, given his brash comments surrounding the latest Bond release, that seemed totally in keeping with his character.
But no - not only was Craig in the movie, he actually had a pretty memorable part as the stormtrooper Rey mind tricks to escape the First Order's clutches. It's a hilarious beat and, despite the American accent, it's clearly Craig's sardonic tones coming from under the helmet.
There were plenty of other awesome cameos in The Force Awakens, from Ewan McGregor and Alec Guinness' shared reprise of Obi-Wan Kenobi and Bill Hader serving as vocal consultant for BB-8, but few are as gobsmacking as James Bond the stormtrooper (he's even been nicknamed JB-007).
